Aerodynamic Collection Efficiency For Multilayer Fog

The goal of this study was to evaluate the fog collection efficiency η for entire fog events at field conditions. the analysis was performed using a standard fog collector (sfc) equipped with a square double raschel mesh, 35% sc with an area of 1 m 2 , located 2 m agl. Probes (fssp) and collection efficiency calculations based on langmuir and blodgett (1946) equations found an overall collection efficiency of 20%. collection efficiency was highest (66%) at the center of a large fog collector when droplets were 11 µm at a wind speed of 3.5–6.5 m s–1. They explicitly described the phenomenon of a fog event and the parameters to obtain the maximum fog water collection efficiency. according to their results, fog water collection efficiency is an important factor that affects the overall cost of clean water obtained by fog events ( montecinos et al., 2018 ). Collection efficiency calculations based on langmuir and blodgett (1946) equations found an overall collection efficiency of 20%. collection efficiency was highest (66%) at the center of a large fog collector when droplets were 11 µm at a wind speed of 3.5–6.5 m s–1. in order to effectively collect fog, the mesh must allow. The conditions of a namib desert dune during a fog event were emulated using a fog producing machine (super fog, lucky reptile, waldkirch, germany) placed in a 50 l refrigerator (waves wc 16007). the fog producing machine generated fog travelling less than 0.1 m s and produced 325 ml fog water per hour.

Mckinley explains that the efficiency of fog collection will always be limited because the mesh must be sufficiently open or porous to allow the wind blown fog droplets to pass through. the 10 percent collection efficiency figure, however, does not capture the full benefit of a fog collecting system; once they are installed the systems require. An active fog collector, afc, has a distance between the open section and the collecting net, in which small fog droplets, but not large rain droplets, are aspirated to the net by a fan. the collection with afc is a consolidated method of fog collection and its sampling efficiency is defined (jacob et al., 1985). such a collector, however. This review aims to explore the many factors that affect their efficiency in practical application through the process of fog collection on functional surfaces. starting from the main process of fog collection, including fog droplet capture, condensation–coalescence and water droplet transport, it moves on to explore the factors that affect.
